Sling Sally Terms and Conditions of sling rental

  • The safety of your child remains your responsibility at all times. It is your responsibility to ensure you are using the sling appropriately and safely at all times. Before each use of the sling, check it carefully for signs of wear and tear, and if you have any concerns stop using the sling and contact the library on [email protected].   • The hired item remains the property of the library at all times and must be returned in the condition it was received in at the end of the agreed rental period.
  • Rental is by collection by appointment from Wokingham, Berkshire, or by post within mainland UK. Email [email protected] to arrange rental or with any questions.
  • Please take good care of the sling during your rental period and return it and any accessories in a clean and useable condition (see notes on washing), at the end of your rental period. Contact [email protected] with any questions.
  • It is the customer’s responsibility to arrange return of the sling at the end of the rental period. If you wish to arrange to extend your rental period, please email [email protected]

 

  • Rental and deposit fees are as follows –
      • Stretchy wraps
      • £20 deposit
      • Collection rentals – first month rental is free for babies under four months old and subsequent months are £5 per month.
      • Postal rentals – first month rental for babies under four months old is £4 (postage cost), and subsequent months are £5 per month.
      • All other slings
      • £50 deposit
      • Collection rentals – £6 per fortnight, £10 per month
      • Postal rentals – £10 per fortnight, £14 per month (inclusive of postage fees from the library to the customer, the customer is responsible for return postage costs).
  • The library accepts payment by cash, cheque or Paypal. 
  • If a sling is lost, damaged or not returned within 30 days of the agreed return date then the customer is liable for the full cost of purchasing a replacement sling for the library. Customers should be aware that in many cases the replacement costs will be greater than the deposit they have paid, and they will be liable for the full amount.
  • Late fees – A late fee of £1 per day will be charged for unarranged late returns – if you would like to arrange to extend your hire period please email [email protected]
  • Postal rental periods – the rental period will begin 2 working days after the sling has been posted. The sling is to be posted back to the library on the last day of the rental period at the latest (see details of how to post), and the customer should obtain proof of posting incase of problems with the postal service.
  • Postal rentals will be sent in cotton bags within strong postal bags by Royal Mail signed for, as this provides £50 insurance cover. They must be returned within the cotton bag, within a strong postal bag, by Royal Mail signed for (return postal fees are the responsibility of the customer). Postal bags can get damaged in transit so the cotton bags provide extra protection for the sling. If a sling is returned without the cotton bag then £1 will be deducted from the hirer’s deposit to cover the cost of a replacement bag.
  • Do not wash the slings. Some slings have very specific washing instructions and failure to follow these can result in damage. Spot clean with a damp cloth as needed and contact the library on [email protected] regarding any incidents that mean the sling will need to be washed fully.
  • Do not smoke near the slings. Any customers who return slings smelling of smoke will forfeit their deposit.
